Inspiration: Texture

“I search for the realness, the real feeling of a subject, all the texture around it… I always want to see the third dimension of something… I want to come alive with the object.”
-Andrew Wyeth

Texture, in jewelry terms, is the ability not only for the viewer to appreciate the design of the object that is being worn, but also to empathetically presume the weight, the feel of that object.  The impact of jewelry enters into the realm of touch.  A cashmere sweater has a different effect when paired with a necklace of cotton and stag’s head coral than it does when paired with a jeweled necklace.  The latter, while undeniably beautiful, has a different effect than the former, where one might be emulating a rain cloud, or an ewe.  It allows you to sartorially ask the question, “What do I feel like today?”
