Famous for his influential clientele (and his superstitious nature), he designed pieces for Jackie O., Wallis Simpson, and Cher, as well as several First Ladies.  While he received awards and accolades for his jewelry, he also designed a line of clothing and accessories through the ’70s and ’80s.





It is the story of a San Francisco detective, John “Scottie” Ferguson, who is hired to investigate a woman with whom he gradually falls in love.  A woman, Madeleine,  who is obsessed with her suicidal great-grandmother, Carlotta, believing that she is her direct reincarnation, and thus doomed to repeat her actions.  Another Hitchcock classic, one of the markers of Madeleine’s obsessions with Carlotta, is a ruby necklace that Carlotta wears in a famous portrait that hangs in the California Palace of the Legion of Honor.  A tale of murder, fear, and fixation, check out the wonderfully eerie clip:



A European brand with gorgeous streamlined and tailored designs that are on trend, they were long famously reticent to ship to the US.  But at last they have both a store opening in Soho (at 129 Spring St.) this summer and a US website!  Check out their jewelry:
